Lalmani Memorial Sansthan (LMS):
LMS is a registered non-governmental organization based in Madhubani, Bihar. Since 2003, we have been working to promote human rights, gender justice, education, health, livelihoods, sanitation, and environmental protection — with a special focus on empowering marginalized communities in Bihar and Jharkhand.
Lalmani Memorial Sansthan had been actively implementing the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) in Madhubani district, with the support of the District Magistrate, Madhubani, under the NCLP scheme.
The organization efficiently operated five NCLP special schools in the following villages under Rahika Block:
-
Kapileshwarasthan
-
Kharaua
-
Satlakha
-
Pokhrauni
-
Pokhrauni Paswan Tola
Each school enrolled 50 children, primarily from downtrodden and marginalized backgrounds, many of whom had been withdrawn from child labour situations. The objective was to provide these children with free education, mid-day meals, life skills, and a supportive learning environment, enabling them to reintegrate into mainstream society.
Each school had a dedicated team of 5 staff members, including one staff member responsible for preparing nutritious food for the children.
Through this project, Lalmani Memorial Sansthan contributed to reducing child labour in the region by giving children hope, education, and a brighter future.
