Lalmani Memorial Sansthan had been actively involved in promoting the welfare and upliftment of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities in various districts of Bihar.

During routine project reviews, the Project Management Committee of the Sansthan identified and reported several cases of social discrimination, exclusion, and lack of access to basic services affecting SC/ST families. These concerns were addressed in Managing Committee meetings, which led to the launch of targeted initiatives to support these marginalized communities.

Key Interventions:

  • Established and operated dedicated welfare programmes to extend facilities to SC/ST individuals and families.

  • Facilitated access to healthcare services, ensuring that vulnerable groups could avail of free or subsidized treatment.

  • Promoted educational opportunities by helping SC/ST children enroll in schools and benefit from government education schemes.

  • Conducted awareness drives to inform the community about their legal rights and entitlements, helping them to access various government aid programs, welfare schemes, and social benefits.

  • Worked closely with local government bodies to resolve individual cases and remove barriers to access.

Impact:

  • Improved social inclusion of SC/ST communities.

  • Increased enrollment of SC/ST children in formal education.

  • Better access to government healthcare facilities and welfare schemes.

  • Empowered community members with knowledge of their rights, helping them to advocate for their needs.

Through these efforts, Lalmani Memorial Sansthan made significant progress in advancing social justice, equity, and empowerment for marginalized groups.
