Lalmani Memorial Sansthan (LMS):
LMS is a registered non-governmental organization based in Madhubani, Bihar. Since 2003, we have been working to promote human rights, gender justice, education, health, livelihoods, sanitation, and environmental protection — with a special focus on empowering marginalized communities in Bihar and Jharkhand.
Lalmani Memorial Sansthan launched a dedicated Plantation Programme with the goal of promoting environmental conservation, preventing illegal tree cutting, and helping to restore ecological balance in the region.
Key Activities:
-
Conducted environmental awareness drives across villages to educate people on the importance of protecting trees and preserving nature.
-
Organized re-plantation of native trees to help counter the harmful effects of deforestation and rising pollution.
-
With the support of the District Plantation Board, the Sansthan initiated free distribution of a variety of plant saplings to local residents, encouraging them to plant and nurture trees in their communities.
Focus Areas:
-
Tree Plantation & Forest Conservation: Regular plantation drives aimed at improving green cover and combating air pollution.
-
Sound Pollution & Water Pollution Control: Alongside plantation efforts, the organization also worked on raising awareness and taking practical steps to reduce noise pollution and protect water bodies from contamination.
Impact:
-
Increased green cover and improvement in air quality in target areas.
-
Community engagement in environmental protection — villagers, especially youth and women, actively participated in plantation and conservation activities.
-
Greater public awareness about the adverse impacts of pollution and the importance of maintaining a clean and green environment.
Through its Plantation Programme, Lalmani Memorial Sansthan contributed to creating a healthier ecosystem and promoting a culture of sustainable living in rural Bihar.
